Dinghy Sailing & Kayaking Experiences

Date and Time of Session: Friday 11th July 11.30am - 3.30pm

Taster days include learning to rig an optimist dinghy, sailing on the river and an induction to kayaking with our qualified instructors and experienced volunteers.

If you are a parent/carer you MUST fill in a registration form before booking your child for their Taster day Experience to ensure that we have all your information on file prior to the date of the experience.

The venue

Manningtree Beach

Because of the timings of the tides it would be advisable that your child/children. Bring water bottles, packed lunches with plenty of snacks to keep them going they will take short breaks throughout the day.

Buoyancy aids are provided but please bring the following items:

Soft shoes that you don’t mind getting wet, double strapped sandals or rock hoppers 
A complete change of clothing, including a warm top and swim wear, your child will get wet!
Towel and wash kit 
Sun cream and sun hat

Please do not send your child in jeans. If it is windy, please send them in jogging bottoms or leggings and warm tops/hoodies as it can be cold when you get out on the river. Also, long hair must be tied back for safety reasons.

If you have a set of waterproofs, a wetsuit, wetsuit boots, sailing gloves of your own please bring them with you.

You can buy wetsuits from many supermarkets for just a few pounds or buy them online from sports shops but its not essential.
